If your employer has issued you an identification badge, chances are that you’ll want to find a name badge holder to protect your id from daily wear and tear. With the high cost of a replacement id, a badge holder also makes for a smart investment decision. There are many different types of badge holders available and you definitely want to choose the right one when making your purchase.
If you prefer simple solutions, a plastic badge holder with a pin or clip attachment is a great option. Plastic holders with these types of attachments are the cheapest option you’ll be able to find, but they do work well if you only need to display your id badge. If your badge doubles as a security card, then you may want to consider a holder that allows for more functionality. Another concern with this type of holder is that the pin or clip can potentially damage your clothing if the badge is worn many times over.
If damage to your clothing is a concern, a magnetic badge holder is a nice accessory to consider. A magnetic holder is much like a plastic holder, but attachment to your clothing is done via a set of magnets. With one magnet attached to the backside of the id holder, the other magnet is placed inside your clothing. The two magnets will then seal together and keep your badge holder in place. With this setup, you don’t have to worry about damage to your clothing. One downside to this type of holder is that the magnets can come apart if the badge is bumped. This may cause you to have to reset the magnets and id badge on your clothing.
Finally, a retractable badge holder is available if your id badge is also used a security swipe card. This type of holder allows the user to swipe their id without having to take off their badge. With some employees required to swipe their badge many times a day, taking off a badge can become a time eating activity. The retractable holder lets you simply pull the badge away for your clothing, swipe, and then release the badge. Upon doing this, it will return to its original resting place.
No matter which option you choose, any name badge holder will be an improvement over not having one. Considering the low cost of a holder, it makes perfect sense to invest in one to protect your id badge from daily work activities.
