Foods High Cholesterol Can Greatly Affect Health
For us to maintain good health it is necessary to have a regular check-up of our cholesterol level. It must be noted that an increase level of bad cholesterol is not good. It is a danger which can hardly be seen. Because of this nature, we take it for granted. If not given proper attention this condition could end up causing serious problems in the future.
High levels of bad cholesterol is due to the food we eat. This is because we are fond of eating food rich in saturated fats and sodium. Food such as ground beef and red meat can be really harmful to our health if we consume too much of it. Those synthetic trans-fat ingredients found in margarines, crackers, cookies, fried foods, pastries, and dairy products are not good either.
So, when you are purchasing packaged food always check the label. Always look at the food ingredients and the nutritional value. This is very important! If the food is high in cholesterol, then it can affect your heart health and can increase the risk to the development of cardiovascular diseases.
Instead, try foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids. This can be found in fish like mackerel, herring, sardines, pilchards, fresh tuna, and salmon. Some other food rich in omega 3 fatty acids are flaxseed or rapeseed oil, walnuts, almonds, and peanuts. These food nutrients helps to reduce your cholesterol, as well as reduce high blood pressure and reduce weight.
Moreover, there are spices, herbs, and seeds that you could use to lower your cholesterol because of their heart healthy properties. You can mix these in the food you cook, to make a healthy delicious meal. You can also include garlic, ginger, pumpkin seeds, cinnamon, and flaxseeds.
If you have been taking foods high in cholesterol there is a great tendency that there is difficulty in the flow of blood to the heart which may lead to heart attack, stroke, coronary heart disease, heart arrhythmia, peripheral artery disease, and chest pain.
So watch out for your heart health by changing your diet and becoming more active. Pay attention to everything you do. Remember that problems, stress, and pressure can greatly affect your heart health since they can increase cholesterol levels as well as increase blood pressure.
Make time to relax either by going out of town for weekends, meditation, and exercise. Think positively and try to remain calm even during stressful times. Choose to be peaceful and happy. Also, make sure you are following your doctor’s advice and your will most likely lower cholesterol and keep your heart functioning normally.
