Why should you suffer in self pity when you can pick yourself up and get back in the game.

Nothing is worse than watching a person walk around in a slump of gloom. You musn’t just feed on this negative behavior. When you realize you have gotten yourself to this point you need to make a choice. Make a choice to pick yourself up and go for a walk, bike ride, drive in your car. Do anything but feed this spiraling attitude only taking you down. Others can see your countenance and when you look for people to give you sympathy it will just repell people away from you. This is probably the opposite of what your looking for at this time.

I once heard a story I will share with you. Whenever I’m feeling down I think of this story and it gets me back going again. There was a farmer and he had a donkey. The donkey was old and tired. The farmer didn’t feel he could benefit or contribute to the farm anymore so he threw the old and tired donkey into a pit. This donkey sat in the pit looking at his destiny for him now and thinking ” I am just going to die alive in here while he throws dirt on me? Every shovel full of dirt the farmer threw on the donkey the donkey would shake off and take a step up on the dirt. By the time the dirt was to the top of the hole, the donkey had shaken off so much dirt and taken so many steps up each time he was able to walk right out of the hole!”

The moral to my little story is that each time something is getting you down and the dirt is piling up on you. You need to shake it off and step up! Make a choice to get back in the game. It takes 3 strikes to sit a baseball player back on the bench but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the game. We all go through difficult times but don’t let it keep you from forgetting about the good things in life and how beautiful your future is. Life is too short to waste feeling sorry for yourself.
