If you have a connection to members of the Iranian-American community, then you possess a way to look for large area rugs cheap. That is because the market for Persian carpets demands the availability of such items. Iranian-Americans want to have access to floor coverings like those they enjoyed in their homeland. Moreover, they want to pay prices that are close to the prices charged by Iranian rug dealers.

Iranians who have immigrated to the United States frequently travel back to their native land. When they do, they can purchase a Persian carpet from a local dealer. Such a salesperson offers a much better price, than any online or brick and mortar store.

James Michener alluded to that fact in one of his books. He wrote about being approached by a rug dealer in Pakistan. That man had a wide selection of red rugs, as well as those with a less bold color. That businessman offered Michener a great price. At that time, however, the author did not carry sufficient cash, or even a checkbook.

That carpet seller was so eager to do business with the famous writer that he agreed to accept a check that Michener had designed personally, there on the spot. The author went along with the merchant’s plan, because he knew that he was getting such a good deal. In fact, the merchant was in no hurry to cash that check, because he wanted to show it to other potential customers.

Now, Iranians who set up a carpet business in the United States have the same penchant for haggling as that Pakistani merchant. Therefore, anyone who is willing to bargain with the owner of a carpet store can get a reasonably priced area rug, a carpet that can fill up more than three fourths of the floor in an average room.
