Implementing an Industrial Kitchen in a Business Environment

If you have a successful bar and wish to add a kitchen into the building so that you can serve food to increased the bar or pub’s income flow, you should make sure that it meets the industrial kitchen standard. By industrial kitchen we mean that it should have commercial grade equipment that will be able to withstand heavy use as well as being designed from the ground up to meet the stringent standards that are imposed on any place that has to serve food.

Health and safety standards are the first things that a business owner should make sure the new industrial kitchen meets standard wise. The best way to make sure that this is correct is to get a survey from the local authorities – they will let you know for a small fee what you will need to have in place to satisfy them once the kitchen is in place. If you omit the survey step to save a bit of money you run the risk of have to alter the design and layout of the kitchen once it is installed – an extra cost you most certainly want to avoid.

Next you will need the equipment for the kitchen – most businesses hire their equipment from a restaurant equipment leasing company. This will ensure that you only have to pay a monthly fee for the machines in the kitchen, and any good company will also service and maintain the equipment within the contract as well, so the flat fee is all that you will have to pay. Alternatively you can buy your own equipment new or second hand, which can save you money in the long run if you don’t mind fixing any faults with the machines yourself.

As long as the health and safety standards are met and you have sufficiently sturdy kitchen equipment, you can be confident that your kitchen is up to task.
