Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I hope you all get a chance to celebrate sometime today. I know some people call Cinco de Mayo, Cinco de Drinko… Choosing to drink is a personal choice and it is wise to consult with God‘s Word. Do you think God looks down upon you if you drink alcohol?
Alcohol is not bad. It is God’s creation after all. However, how you use alcohol can be bad. Getting drunk all the time is bad. God is against drunkards. And He warns us of the dangers of drinking too much alcohol. Pray for God to help you know your limits and drink responsibly. Choosing to consume a drink or two with your meal is not bad and can be healthy for your heart.
Psalm 104 says, “He makes grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth; wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart.”
Remember, Jesus’s first miracle was turning water into wine at a wedding.(John 2:3-11) God wants us to enjoy life and celebrate with friends and family. Whether you choose to drink or not, may we respect each other’s choice with love.
Here’s to Cinco de Mayo! And here’s to living an joyful Godly life!
Cheers!
