Why is there Evil?
I am watching a scary movie right now. I love scary movies and books, but lately I have not felt like watching them. I don’t know if it is because I am focusing on our glorious good God so much or not. I do feel more happy and peaceful since reading God’s Word daily, so perhaps I do not want to disturb that peace just yet, even when it is the safety of my bedroom.
This movie is scary though, why are there so many evil people in the world? Or why do bad things happen to good people?
God gave us free will. He gave us the choice to love or hate. It goes back to Adam and Eve who were tempted by the Devil, they chose to know about evil. All of our choices have consequences. Good and bad people both, go through trials and joys. I pray more people choose love and good choices every time.
“Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than other people from Galilee?” he asked. “Is that why they suffered? Not at all! And you will also perish unless you turn from your evil ways and turn to God.” – Luke 13:2-3
Know that God wants us to come to Him when bad things happen.
We will all die in this world, because of sin. We are all sinners. However, the good news is that Jesus conquer death and we will live forever in heaven, if we have Jesus in our hearts.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”(Rev. 21:4 NIV)
