The Bible is God’s True Word
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” -2 Timothy 3:16
I have just started reading the Bible daily this year, even though I have been a Christian my whole life. I am amazed how much God has helped me in my daily life with His living true Word! The Bible is a guide to live a life full of happiness, forgiveness, and love.
Have you read through the whole Bible? Are you reading it daily? God wants to you to know Him. The more I read the Bible the more I want to know more.
The Bible is God’s Word. Read the Bible theologically, by focusing on God. Here are some facts about the Bible:
“The Bible spans a period of 4000 years of world history. The Bible was written by many human authors, yet it is one book in theme, consistent throughout.The Bible was written 2000 years ago, yet it has been repeatedly proven accurate, and is still relevant today. (Scientific “facts” have come and gone) The Bible is the world’s most widely distributed book. 2.5 billion copies were distributed between 1815 and 1975. The Bible was the first book to be printed mechanically (Gutenberg Press). Portions of the Bible have been translated in over 1000 languages. The Bible is the most quoted book in the world. The Bible is from God and the message of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is consistent throughout. Read the Bible theologically and look for ways that bind the 66 books together. Jesus ties the old testament and the new testament together.
The Bible is eternal and shows how God has brought people into a personal relationship with Him throughout history. God wants to be in a personal relationship with each one of us, which we can have through faith, prayer, and by reading God’s Word!
Prayer and using a commentary book has helped me greatly understand the Bible better. Going to Bible study has also helped me understand our wonderful, loving, perfect, good, holy God! The Bible is a gift from God to help us answer our basic questions of life, so we can live the fullest life loving God and others. Know the Bible is True by applying the Bible to your daily life. Philosopher Paul Helm wrote, “God [and His Word] are proved by hearing and obeying Him and finding that He is as good as His Word.” (crosswalk.com)
